Yoga classes will de-stress and relax you

If it’s relaxation you looking for, then find your inner self with yoga classes at the Reservoir Hills library. The classes are guaranteed to relax you while providing you with enough time to de-stress before getting back into your hectic routine.

Support a worthy cause. The Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust is set to continue its monthly Open Saturday Tea and Garden initiative throughout this year, as part of its fund-raising drive. Pop down to the centre on Old Main Road where you can buy plants at the nursery as well as unique woodwork. Home-baked goodies are also on offer, including muffins. Football fans are in for a treat this month when the Champions League Football kicks off. Lovers of the game can catch it on the big screen at Sibaya Casino and Entertainment World’s Krakatoa. The first game, between Inter Milan and Manchester United, will be shown on February 24, followed by the Real Madrid and Liverpool match the next day. The sixth season of Spirit of the Dance is back again. The show, which runs in the Nelson Mandela Theatre Stage at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre from February 17 until March 1, has been seen by more than 30-million people around the world. Renowned English ballet dancer Maina Gielgud is sharing her dance secrets with local performers at a series of open classes. Dancers and members from around the country are invited to participate and observe in an open class taught by Gielgud at the South African Ballet Theatre studios at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre in Braamfontein until February 24. Gielgud danced for several ballet companies in England, France and Czechoslovakia. She will prepare local dancers for the exquisite Cinderella which opens in March. Shakespeare’s tragic love-story Othello will be held this month at Durban’s Playhouse Company. The play, directed by Clare Mortimer, stars Ferai Gwaze in the lead. The play runs from February 16 until March 24 and is aimed at high-school pupils. Tickets cost R35 for pupils, students, and pensioners and R50 for adults for the public performances.
